Job Description

This entry-level role supports the ventilation side of HVAC by cleaning and maintaining air cleaning systems in industrial, commercial, restaurant, hotel, and casino environments. You will assist with filter changes, basic installation tasks, and general labor while learning wiring and electrical aspects of ventilation units. The position involves hands-on, physically demanding work in a dirty environment and requires frequent travel to various job sites across the region.

Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain ventilation and air cleaning systems for manufacturing facilities, hotels, restaurants, commercial buildings, industrial sites, and casinos.
• Change filters in ventilation units, including new eco-friendly filter systems, according to company standards and procedures.
• Use hand tools safely and effectively to support installation, cleaning, and basic repair tasks.
• Assist in lifting, moving, and positioning ventilation systems and related materials as directed by the lead technician.
• Perform general labor duties related to air duct cleaning, duct work, and HVAC ventilation installation (no refrigeration or cooling).
• Support wiring and basic electrical work under guidance, learning how to perform wiring and installation of the units over time.
• Help with material handling, including loading, unloading, organizing, and staging equipment and supplies at job sites.
• Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized work area during and after each job.
• Travel with the crew to job sites that may range from local locations to broader regional areas, staying overnight as needed.
• Work an overnight 4/10 schedule, starting on Sunday night and working shifts that may occur anytime between 6:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m.
• Collaborate with team members, communicate clearly on tasks, and support a positive and productive work environment.
• Represent the company professionally at customer sites by being presentable, respectful, and reliable.

Essential Skills

• Ability and willingness to perform physically demanding, dirty work in the ventilation portion of HVAC systems.
• Comfort with heavy travel to job sites across a wide geographic area, including overnight stays.
• Clean DMV record, as required for traveling in company vehicles.
• Ability to use basic hand tools safely for installation, cleaning, and minor repair tasks.
• Capability to perform general labor duties, including lifting, carrying, and working in various facility environments.
• Self-motivated attitude with the ability to work consistently and take initiative on assigned tasks.
• Strong team player who works well with others and follows direction from experienced technicians.
• Professional and presentable demeanor when working at customer locations.
• Willingness to work an overnight 4/10 schedule, starting Sunday night, with hours between 6:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Trade school education or technical training in HVAC, electrical, or a related field is a strong plus but not required.
• Interest in learning electrical systems, including wiring and installation of ventilation units.
• Experience with air duct cleaning, duct work, or HVAC installation is beneficial.
• Basic understanding of repair practices for mechanical or electrical systems is helpful.
• Previous general labor experience in construction, facilities, or maintenance environments is an advantage.

Work Environment

You will work with hand tools, ventilation units, air ducts, filters, and basic electrical components while assisting with installations, filter changes, cleaning, wiring, and general labor. The environment is often dirty due to dust and debris from ventilation systems, and the work is physically demanding, involving lifting and moving equipment and materials. The schedule for overnight helpers follows a 4/10 structure, on Sunday night, with shifts that may occur anytime between 6:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. Heavy travel is a core part of the job, with job sites ranging from local areas to locations across a broad region, and you will ride in company vehicles rather than drive while on contract. You are expected to be presentable and professional at customer locations while working in practical, task-appropriate attire suitable for manual labor and dirty conditions.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Santa Ana, CA.

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $21.00/hr.
