PitchBook is seeking an experienced and passionate Senior Editor to lead production of the Daily Pitch, PitchBook's flagship newsletter covering the private markets. We're looking for a seasoned financial journalist who thrives on a daily deadline, has sharp news judgment, and wants to shape how tens of thousands of dealmakers, allocators, and investors start their day. Primary Job Responsibilities: Own the Daily Pitch end to end: set the lineup, edit every item, write and sharpen headlines and leads, and ensure the newsletter ships on deadline every weekday Exercise strong news judgment on deadline, reworking the lineup for late-breaking coverage Liaise closely with PitchBook’s Institutional Research Group to translate analyst reports and proprietary datasets into accessible, visually compelling items for a dealmaker audience Partner with reporters and editors across the newsroom to identify and elevate high-impact stories for the newsletter Own audience growth and engagement metrics for the newsletter, including open and click rates and subscriber growth, and iterate on format and story selection accordingly Use AI tools to augment editorial workflows and maintain editorial standards of accuracy, fairness, and journalistic integrity throughout Support the vision and values of the company through role modeling and encouraging desired behaviors Participate in various company initiatives and projects as requested Basic Qualifications: 7+ years of financial journalism with 3+ years focused on private equity, venture capital, or M&A Must be authorized to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future Preferred Qualifications: Exceptional writing and editing skills, with particular strength in headlines and leads and an ability to translate complex information into engaging stories Demonstrated experience managing reporters or editors and collaborating with others to plan editorial coverage Familiarity with financial data, deal databases, and using data to strengthen reporting Experience working with researchers, analysts, or other non-journalist contributors, and the ability to build credibility with a senior analyst team while maintaining editorial standards Fluency with newsletter performance metrics and a track record of growing audience and engagement Previous experience producing a daily or high-frequency news product in a newsroom or a similar fast-paced, deadline-driven environment Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to work across time zones and functions Highly organized and able to manage a consistent daily publishing cadence Familiarity with online content management systems, email service providers, and project management software Familiarity with Associated Press or in-house style guides Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite, including in-depth knowledge of Outlook, Word, and Excel with the ability to pick up new systems and software easily Benefits + Compensation at PitchBook: Physical Health Additional medical wellness incentives STD, LTD, AD&D, and life insurance Emotional Health Paid sabbatical program after four years Paid family and paternity leave Annual educational stipend Ability to apply for tuition reimbursement CFA exam stipend Robust training programs on industry and soft skills Employee assistance program Generous allotment of vacation days, sick days, and volunteer days Social Health Matching gifts program Employee resource groups Dependent Care FSA Employee referral bonus program Quarterly team building events Shared ownership employee stock program Monthly transportation stipend Please be aware the above PitchBook benefit and perk offerings are subject to corresponding plan and policy documents and may change during the course of your employment.
