Job PostingLa Clinica de La Raza is a non-profit, community-based health center established in 1971 to address health barriers and create better lives for the underserved. We have proudly grown into over 35 sites across Alameda, Contra Costa, and Solano County.Under the general direction of the Facilities Manager, the individual in this position will be required to travel to the various locations in the different counties where La Clinica has facilities and provides services. This is a hands-on position that requires the individual to oversee and respond to daily service needs of the clinics and other departments as well as providing on-the-job training where needed for facilities staff. Working closely with the Facilities Manager and Facilities Associate, this individual will ensure that the locations are maintained in a safe, clean, professional, and enjoyable environment. This will include implementing an ongoing preventative facilities maintenance program and confirming all required scheduled maintenance contracts are met for both life safety and building safety and operation.Major Areas of ResponsibilitySupervisory Responsibilities:Responsible for assigning and managing the daily work order assignments with input from the Facilities Associate. Assist where needed to ensure a quality job is completed.Completes the yearly reviews of each employee for performance, progress in skills and meeting the mission of La Clinica De La Raza.Provides training to facilities staff in an effort to improve the skill of the employee while improving service to the sites.Duties/Responsibilities:Assures buildings are maintained in a safe, clean, professional, and operationally effective condition.Collaborates with site managers to ensure their needs are fulfilled and to resolve any facilities-related concerns they may haveCoordinates the implementation of preventative maintenance programs; analyzes and oversees the operation, maintenance, and repair of buildings including roofing, painting, HVAC, elevators, landscaping, electrical, plumbing and other as directed.Conducts inspections of interior and exterior of buildings for maintenance needs for cosmetic appeal, structural integrity, cleanliness, and life safety.Evaluates all equipment and utilities in a manner to promote conservation and energy efficiency.Coordinates work with other support department teams (IT, Materials Management, Fiscal, and Planning) to ensure successful execution with minimal disruption to operations. Attends Adds, Moves, and Changes committee meetings and ensures that facilities activities are documented in the AMC portal.Works with contracted vendors to be sure contractual agreements are being met and to address any concerns of poor service. Assist in scheduling any special needs of a site with the vendor in order to minimize disruption of daily operations. This would include needs such as interior painting, carpet shampooing, hard floor waxing, etc.Participates in annual budget preparations for both operational needs of the sites as well as capital improvements.Minimum Job RequirementsKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities:General understanding of building and life safety codes.Good knowledge of methods, tools, materials, and equipment to be used in maintaining the sites.Working knowledge of automated HVAC, and other building systems; as well as automated work order systems, Microsoft Office suite, and project scheduling programs such as MS Projects.Ability to read construction documents including building plans.Ability to work across cultures and demonstrate support of diversity, equity and inclusion.Able to demonstrate the ability to plan and prioritize work orders as they are requested using existing or newly designed tracking systems.Ability and skill to exercise sound judgment in quickly evaluating emergency situations and rendering prompt decisions.Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.Ability to demonstrate dependable transportation to fulfill job responsibilities.Excellent communication skills, writing skills, interpersonal skills as well as the ability to communicate effectively and relate congenially to vendors and staff.Education and Experience:Requires degree in related field or minimum 5 years' experience in all phases of building maintenance and management.Demonstrated administrative and supervisory competency.Experience with construction and project management a plus.Physical Requirements:Remaining in a stationary position, often standing, or sitting for prolonged periodsBending/lifting, pushing/pulling, adjusting, or moving objects weighing up to 50 pounds in all directions and occasionally more.Repeating motions that may include the neck, wrists, hands and/or fingersUpper extremity demands: Reaching above shoulder and/or below waist.Willing to work after normal business hours if necessary and be available after hours for emergency situations and other company-related calls.Operation of personal vehicle requires possession and maintenance of a valid driver's license and proof of auto insurance.Operation of personal and work vehicle requires a valid driver's license.Salary: $85,647-$99,324 DOE
