Operating Room Registered Nurse

Days, Monday to Friday (5 days a week, 8-hour shifts), including rotating call coverage.

Job Description

The Operating Room Registered Nurse promotes and restores patients' health by completing the nursing process. This includes collaborating with physicians and multidisciplinary team members, providing physical and psychological support to patients, friends, and families, and supervising assigned team members. Nursing care is rendered to all patients in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act, hospital, Nursing Department, and regulatory standards. The RN is responsible for the care of patients in the operating room and provides patient care as a circulating and/or scrub nurse, ensuring safe and therapeutically effective nursing care. The RN also maintains the work area and uses skills in nursing assessment to recognize post-anesthesia and post-operative complications.

Responsibilities

• Completing the nursing process and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
• Providing physical and psychological support to patients and their families.
• Supervising assigned team members and maintaining compliance with nursing standards.
• Rendering nursing care in the operating room as a circulating and/or scrub nurse.
• Participating in 24-hour call coverage and maintaining the work area.
• Recognizing and managing post-anesthesia and post-operative complications.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Previous experience in Operating Room and Recovery Room nursing preferred.
• Current Washington State or MultiState RN license required.
• Current American Heart Association BLS/CPR certification card upon hire.
• ACLS & PALS certifications required.

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.
