Founder-in-Residence: AI-First Venture Builder

LG Electronics, a global leader in technology, invites applications for an Entrepreneur‑in‑Residence role at LG NOVA, the company’s North America Innovation Center. The role focuses on creating and launching a new AI‑native venture outside of health and cleantech, ultimately growing it into a spin‑out backed by LG’s venture fund. Position Overview As a founder‑track role, you will define the product thesis, secure initial design partners, hire the founding team, raise the seed round, and build the commercial and technical foundation. You will operate across product, go‑to‑market, and company building, translating emerging technical capabilities into clear business value. What You’ll Do Define the company strategy and category position Establish a clear point of view on the problem space and position the company as a category leader. Own the end‑to‑end build of the business From first principles through early traction, including product direction, GTM, and initial revenue. Secure early design partners and customers Build conviction through real‑world deployments and translate learnings into product direction. Develop and execute a focused go‑to‑market strategy Combine founder‑led sales, partnerships, and scalable channels to drive early adoption. Guide product evolution from early solution to scalable platform Balance speed, customer needs, and long‑term differentiation. Raise external capital and manage investor relationships Lead fundraising efforts and communicate a compelling, evidence‑backed narrative. Build and lead a high‑performing founding team Attract top talent and establish a strong execution culture from the outset. Drive core business fundamentals Focus on early revenue, customer retention, and scalable unit economics. What You’ll Bring Proven builder mindset Experience operating in zero‑to‑one or highly ambiguous environments, taking AI‑native products from concept through early validation. AI‑native product and business leadership Demonstrated experience building AI‑first products, shaping vision, models, and differentiation rooted in AI capabilities. Strong technical foundation in AI systems Expertise with modern AI tools and platforms, cloud infrastructure, and integration of software (and hardware where relevant). Product + commercial instincts Translate complex AI and technical concepts into customer value propositions and scalable revenue opportunities. Enterprise AI go‑to‑market experience Navigate longer sales cycles, security/compliance, and stakeholder alignment in enterprise settings. Track record of early‑stage traction Find product‑market fit for technically complex products and build repeatable sales or partnership motions. Ecosystem credibility and network Leverage a network across AI stakeholders to accelerate early traction. Entrepreneurial drive Bias toward action, resilience, and comfort with high‑variance outcomes. Team‑building capability Hire and lead early founding teams, establishing a strong execution culture.
