Manager, Actuarial Product Specialty

Compensation Overview The annual base salary ranges from $109,300.00 - $180,200.00 nationwide. Compensation is determined by role complexity, location, skills, education, and experience. Employees are eligible for performance‑based cash incentive awards. What Is the Opportunity? Business Insurance Actuarial Product – Specialty seeks a Manager to support Product & Platform Modernization (PPM) actuarial deliverables across Specialty lines, including Inland Marine, Ocean Marine, and Boiler & Machinery. The role partners with Product Management, Development, Rating Technology, Underwriting, Pricing Circle, and Strategy, Planning & Execution teams. Key Responsibilities Develop and build rate plans for current and future PPM products. Design and execute post‑monitoring activities. Create compliance documentation and validate rating tables. Contribute to restatement and benchmark capabilities. Lead strategic initiatives, propose innovations, and improve project timelines. Perform actuarial and analytical analyses independently and guide unit initiatives. Communicate results to peers and business partners; prepare memos and presentations. Manage talent: mentor staff, oversee performance, onboard new employees, and support training programs. Provide support across enterprise initiatives as needed. Qualifications College degree in a STEM‑related field. Associate Actuarial Credential. 4+ years of quantitative analysis experience. Strong PC skills (MS Office) and programming skills (SQL, SAS). Demonstrated ability in actuarial and quantitative analysis, statistical concepts, and project management. Leadership skills: ownership of projects, mentorship, and positive enterprise culture. Business acumen in underwriting, products, reinsurance, distribution, sales, operations, risk control, claims, and financials. Relationship management across business units and the BI&AA community. Quantitative analysis: independent analytics, data tools, and method evaluation. Must Have Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience. 2 years of experience in quantitative analysis.
