This position plays a critical role in ensuring the accurate delivery and handling of materials while following all DOT regulations and company safety procedures.Key ResponsibilitiesSafely operate commercial bulk trucks in accordance with DOT regulations and company policies.Load and unload bulk materials using proper tools and techniques.Transport equipment and materials between locations, third parties, and other districts.Perform and document thorough pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections.Monitor and maintain vehicle condition, including fluid levels, tire pressure, and general upkeep.Maintain accurate driver logs, delivery paperwork, and related documentation.Communicate with the Logistics Coordinator to receive assignments, updates, and travel instructions.Adhere to all safety protocols and maintain a strong safety-first mindset in all operations.Perform other duties as assigned to support operational and organizational goals.QualificationsEducation & ExperienceValid Class A CDL required; Tanker and/or Hazmat endorsements preferred.Able to pass a DOT physical, drug screen, background check, and MVR review.Minimum of 1 year of experience driving commercial vehicles preferred.Previous experience operating cement bulk trucks is a plus.Skills & KnowledgeBasic mechanical knowledge to perform routine vehicle maintenance and safety checks.Ability to read, understand, and complete shipping documents and driver logs.Excellent communication skills and ability to follow instructions accurately.Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.Critical Tasks / Performance GoalsConsistently adhere to all DOT and company safety policies, including the use of PPE.Complete and document pre- and post-trip inspections.Provide proactive updates on delivery status, delays, or issues as they arise.Demonstrate professionalism and courtesy when interacting with field staff, vendors, and third-party personnel.Participate in all required safety and compliance training sessions.Stay current on DOT regulations and industry best practices.Operate equipment safely and efficiently with minimal downtime.Work Environment & Physical DemandsRegular exposure to moving machinery, outdoor weather conditions, diesel fumes, chemicals, dust, and moderate to loud noise levels.Must be able to frequently lift, lower, carry, and move materials, tools, and equipment weighing up to 65 pounds.Must be able to push and pull equipment, carts, hoses, or other objects requiring up to 100 pounds of force.Requires frequent walking, standing, bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, crouching, and working at ground level for extended periods.Must be able to climb and descend ladders, steps, platforms, and equipment while maintaining balance and stability.Requires sufficient manual dexterity and fine motor coordination to operate tools, manipulate small parts, assemble and disassemble components, and perform maintenance and repair tasks.Requires the physical stamina to perform repetitive physical activities throughout the workday while wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE), including respirators and other safety equipment.Requires visual acuity to inspect equipment, read gauges, identify defects, and safely perform maintenance and operational tasks.Must be able to effectively communicate verbally and in writing with supervisors, coworkers, customers, and other personnel in shop, office, and field environments, as applicable.Physical Capability: The physical demands described above are representative of the essential functions of this position.
