Job Title

Registered Nurse (RN) – Step Down / IMC / PCU (Travel, Nights)

Location

Birmingham, AL | Step Down Unit

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | 13 Weeks | Nights, 6:30 PM – 7:00 AM | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a Step Down / IMC / PCU setting with an expected 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Monitor and assess patients requiring intermediate-level cardiac and medical-surgical care
• Recognize and respond to changes in patient condition, initiating appropriate interventions
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams to develop and implement individualized patient care plans
• Accurately document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes in the facility EMR

Required Qualifications

• Active and unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in Alabama
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required — must be in hand at time of submission
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required — must be in hand at time of submission
• Minimum 2 years of Step Down, IMC, or PCU nursing experience
• Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this travel assignment

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with telemetry monitoring and interpretation
• Familiarity with electronic medical record (EMR) systems used in acute care environments
• Strong critical thinking and prioritization skills in a fast-paced step down environment
