About the Role
The Company is seeking a Managing Director of Marketing and Communications to lead the strategic development and execution of a comprehensive marketing and communications plan for the Courage Museum. This role is pivotal in shaping the museum's public identity, institutional voice, and national reputation. The successful candidate will be responsible for launching integrated campaigns that not only build awareness but also convert audiences into museum visitors. Key responsibilities include overseeing content across various digital platforms, managing media relations, and ensuring that the museum's mission and values are effectively communicated. The role demands a creative and pragmatic leader with a proven track record in marketing and communications, particularly in the context of complex and socially impactful organizations. The ideal candidate will have at least 12 years' experience in the field, with a strong background in brand strategy, audience development, and digital engagement. They should be adept at managing external partners, and agencies, and leading cross-functional teams. Experience in crisis communications, and a deep understanding of the political and cultural landscape, is essential. The role requires a candidate who is not only a strategic thinker but also hands-on in execution, with exceptional writing and storytelling skills. While museum experience is not mandatory, a deep connection to the mission of the Courage Museum and the values it represents is crucial. The candidate should be a collaborative leader, capable of aligning diverse perspectives, and be committed to the principles of equity and social justice that the museum embodies.
