Transportation Operations Analyst

We’re looking for a Transportation Operations Analyst to join our team in Columbus, OH and report to the Transportation Manager. As a part of Jeni’s Transportation Team, this position works to deliver ice cream and other products to our scoop shops, grocery partners and warehouses across the country. This position oversees daily operational tasks including load tendering, routing, dispatching, and tracking/tracing shipments. This role will work cross functionally with Jeni’s teammates and external partners. The ideal candidate will exemplify the talent, hustle, guts, resilience, and empathy for which we recruit.

Hybrid Work Environment: This position follows a hybrid schedule, with Mondays and Fridays working from home and Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays working from our Columbus office.

This position is responsible for:

• Routing, and optimizing freight and parcel shipments within Jeni’s supply chain 

• Using web based TMS platform (Portex) for all customer and supplier shipments

• Owning the daily track and trace process for all freight shipments, and succinct communication to key stakeholders

• Auditing invoices and report on costs associated with Jeni’s transportation operations 

• Participating in strategic discussions with third-party partners to improve service and meet Jeni’s goal of lowest sustainable cost

• Managing white glove, time critical and high value shipment issues helping to meet Jeni’s organizational goals 

• Identifying areas for improvement and propose strategies to enhance execution across Jeni’s Logistics operations

• Assisting in creation of SOPs for Jeni’s Transportation team

• Producing detailed metric tracking and reports to present to Jeni’s leadership team

• Leading process improvement initiatives with Transportation

• Working cross-functionally with other Jeni’s departments to make sure all customers’ needs are met

• Leading continuous improvement projects related to reducing cost and/or increasing delivery service

Qualified applicants will have the following education, experience and skills:

• Minimum 3-5 years of experience in transportation, logistics, supply chain, operations, analytics, or relevant experience / college degree.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Suite products with an emphasis on analysing data with Microsoft Excel / Google Sheets

• ERP and TMS experience strongly preferred

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Be able to work in a rapid changing environment
