Registered Nurse - CVOR

Job Description

Job Summary:
The CVOR RN is responsible for providing specialized perioperative nursing care to cardiac surgery patients within a high-volume hospital setting. The role involves collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe and efficient surgical procedures and patient recovery.

Responsibilities:

• Assess and monitor patients pre-, intra-, and post-operatively in the CVOR unit.
• Prepare operating rooms with necessary equipment, including the Davinci Robot XI, ensuring adherence to sterile techniques.
• Assist surgeons during cardiac procedures such as CABG, valve replacements, TAVRs, and TEVRs.
• Document patient care accurately using Meditech system and maintain compliance with hospital policies.
• Collaborate with unit secretaries and tech staff to optimize patient flow and safety.
• Respond promptly to urgent patient needs and facilitate communication between team members.

Qualifications:

• Hold an active RN license in the state of South Carolina.
• Possess at least 1 year of experience in a general OR and 1 year in cardiac surgery.
• Demonstrate proficiency in cardiac procedures, including CABG, valve surgeries, and robotic lung surgeries.
• Certified in BLS and ACLS; it is preferred to have CST certification.
• Exhibit strong clinical skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
