Location - Syracuse, NY

Duration - 13 Weeks

Position Overview

Seeking an experienced Certified Surgical Technologist for an Adult Operating Room supporting a busy Level I Trauma Center. The ideal candidate will have strong scrub experience across multiple surgical specialties and be comfortable working independently in a high-acuity trauma and teaching hospital environment.

Schedule

• Evening Shift
• Rotating Schedule Including:
  • 11:00 AM – 7:30 PM
  • 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM
  • 11:00 AM – 11:30 PM
• Mix of:
  • 4 x 8-Hour Shifts
  • 4 x 12-Hour Shifts

Required Experience

• Minimum 3 years of recent Operating Room experience (within the last 4 years)
• Experience in a Level I or Level II Trauma Center required
• Acute Care Hospital experience required
• Teaching Hospital experience preferred
• Strong scrub experience required
• First-time travelers considered only with experience in similarly sized facilities

Required Certification

• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST)

Required Surgical Specialties

• Trauma Surgery
• Orthopedic Surgery
• General Surgery
• ENT Surgery
• Vascular Surgery
• Gynecology Surgery

Additional Preferred Experience

• Neurosurgery
• Bariatric Surgery
• Genitourinary (GU) Surgery
• Adult OR experience

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain sterile surgical fields
• Assist surgeons during operative procedures
• Handle surgical instruments and supplies
• Ensure proper aseptic and sterile techniques
• Anticipate surgeon needs during procedures
• Maintain patient safety throughout the surgical process
• Support efficient OR workflow in high-volume trauma environments
