Job Summary:
Medical Surgical Floor Nurse in the region of Johnstown, PA. This role involves providing comprehensive patient care on a neuro medical-surgical unit, supporting adult patient populations with conditions such as CVA, TIA, seizures, and respiratory issues. The position requires a dedicated professional to deliver quality care in a fast-paced environment, with a focus on safety, accuracy, and patient comfort.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Days shift, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Certifications in NIH (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) and Swallow Screen preferred; no minimum experience required; candidate must have completed all screenings prior to start date.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience in neuro med-surg is ideal.
• Float: Float rotation may be required.
• Additional Information: Must be competent in dysrhythmia detection. Will take a dysrhythmia and math dosage test on day one of orientation. Study guide and welcome packet provided. Candidate must be available for holidays as scheduled during phone screening.

  • Patient Ratios: 5:1, 6:1
  • Equipment: Mindray vital sign monitors, GE electrocardiogram (EKG), cardiac monitors.
  • Electronic Health Record (EHR): EPIC
  • Supervisor: Stephanie Nolan, MSN, RN
  • Patient Population: Adult
  • Common Diagnoses/Treatments: CVA, TIA, inability to ambulate, seizure, respiratory issues, urinary conditions.
• Dress Code: Scrubs in any color; unacceptable attire includes hoodies, t-shirts with wording or pictures, facial piercings; dress code to be adhered to during orientation.
