Financial Analyst II

The Financial Analyst has a strong background in financial analysis, strategic planning, and data-driven decision-making. This role is responsible for providing advanced financial insights, conducting complex financial modeling, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive informed business strategies. The Financial Analyst's contributions will directly impact the organization's financial performance and strategic direction.This role focuses on both customer and service profit analysis, pricing relating to RFPs and internal and external customer reporting requests. This is an onsite position located in Irvine, CAESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:Conduct comprehensive financial analysis to assess performance, identify trends, and provide insights to support key business decisionsPerform variance analysis and recommend corrective actions to ensure financial goals are met. Including ERP and FP&ALead the development and consolidation of budgets and forecasts for the organizationCollaborate with various departments to gather inputs, analyze data, and provide accurate financial projections Create and maintain intricate financial models that simulate different scenarios to aid strategic planning, risk assessment, and investment decisionsTranslate complex data into actionable recommendationsCollaborate with cross-functional teams to understand their financial needs, provide financial guidance, and assist in developing strategies that align with overall corporate objectivesPrepare and present regular and ad hoc financial reports to senior management, highlighting key performance indicators, financial trends, and actionable insightsEnsure accuracy and consistency of financial data by conducting rigorous data validation and reconciliation processes. Identify and resolve discrepancies in a timely mannerContinuously evaluate and enhance financial processes, reporting methodologies, and tools to streamline operations and improve the quality and timeliness of financial informationAssess financial risks and opportunities, providing recommendations to mitigate risks and capitalize on opportunitiesAssist in developing strategies to optimize capital allocationStay updated on financial regulations, accounting standards, and reporting requirementsEnsure all financial activities are conducted in accordance with relevant laws and regulationsPlan and execute audits of various financial, operational, and compliance processes in accordance with established guidelines and standardsGather and analyze data, documents, and records to assess the accuracy and completeness of transactions and operationsProvide guidance and mentorship to junior finance analysts, fostering their professional growth and development within the organizationCollaborate with sales operations and HR teams to collect and validate data related to sales transactions, contracts, and performance metricsCalculate commission earnings based on established compensation plans and guidelinesAssist in the calculation and distribution of performance-based bonuses for various teamsEnsure accuracy and compliance with company policies and targetsSupport special projects and ad hoc financial analysis as required by the finance leadership teamProvide insights and recommendations to address specific business challengesAdditional duties as assignedKNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:Intermediate to advanced skills in working with Microsoft Office ExcelIntermediate experience with VBA/Macros a plusIntermediate ability of generating and manipulating SQL queries a plus Ability to work independently as well as in a team environmentStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsAbility to prioritize, manage and resolve unique and challenging projectsStrong communication and presentation skillsAbility to exercise independent judgment and make sound business decisions effectivelyEDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:Minimum of 3-5 year's experience in an analytic role, business or financial preferredCollege degree from a four-year accredited college/university; degree in business administration or similar preferredPAY RANGECorVel uses a market-based approach to pay and our salary ranges may vary depending on your location. Pay rates are established taking into account the following factors: federal, state, and local minimum wage requirements, the geographic location differential, job-related skills, experience, qualifications, internal employee equity, and market conditions. Our ranges may be modified at any time.For leveled roles (I, II, III, Senior, Lead, etc.) new hires may be slotted into a different level, either up or down, based on assessment during interview process taking into consideration experience, qualifications, and overall fit for the role.
