Shelley New Show Cattle Program Coordinator & Assistant Ranch Manager

Coordinating the Shelley New Show Cattle program is the primary duties of this position. The position will oversee students and coordinate all show activities, including cattle preparation and exhibition. Additional duties as an assistant ranch manager are secondary emphasis during times that show cattle operations are minimal. The selected candidate will collaborate with the current ASURanch Manager to gain up-to-date guidance on ASURanch.

Prepare cattle for exhibition, including grooming, feeding, and conditioning

Provide day-to-day care of show cattle, ensuring health and well-being

Maintain and support a registered student organization, with students serving as primary participants

Supervise and mentor students in cattle preparation and exhibition activities

Coordinate travel arrangements for cattle exhibitions at major shows

Oversee purchasing of supplies, equipment, and feed for the cattle program

Strong communication and organizational skills

Dedication to excellence in student organization advising and mentorship

Experience with ranch and livestock management

Dedication to professional standards and favorable visibility toward potential students and livestock customers

Earned bachelor degree in Agriculture discipline from an accredited university with preferred emphasis in cattle/ranch management

Experience with show cattle exhibition at the National/International level

Normal interactions with livestock, outdoor activities, and the ability to lift roughly 50 lbs.
