You'll set technical directions, grow your engineers, and keep the team's work tightly aligned with what the business needs; while staying close enough to the code to earn your team's trust.In this role, you will:Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of software development projects. This involves setting project timelines, allocating resources, and tracking progress against milestones.Provide technical guidance and expertise to the development team, helping to resolve complex technical issues and ensuring that the team follows best practices and coding standards.Championing AI Engineering by encouraging the team to inject AI across the entire SDLC to drive efficiency gains.Improving system performance and reliability and conducting code reviews and making technical contributions.Allocate resources effectively, including personnel, budget, and time, to ensure that projects are completed on schedule and within budget constraints.Identify potential risks and challenges in software development projects and develop strategies to mitigate them.Continuously assess and improve software development processes, tools, and methodologies to increase efficiency, quality, and scalability.Ensure that software development activities comply with relevant regulations, standards, and security protocols.Ensure that software products meet quality standards and customer requirements by implementing rigorous testing procedures and quality assurance processes.Communicate with stakeholders, including clients, executives, and other departments, to understand requirements, provide updates on project status, and manage expectations.Stay informed about new technologies, tools, and trends in software development, and assess their potential impact on current and future projects.Address conflicts and disagreements within the development team or with other stakeholders in a constructive and timely manner.Lead, mentor, and manage a team of software developers, ensuring they have the resources, support, and direction needed to meet project goals.Foster a collaborative and communicative environment within the development team and across other departments such as product management, quality assurance, and operations.Evaluate the performance of team members, provide feedback, and implement strategies for professional development and improvement.Recruits, interviews, hires, and trains new staff.What You'll Need to Join Our TeamBachelor's degree in computer science or related field or equivalent work experience.3+ years in leadership role.7+ years of engineering experience.8+ years of leading the definition and development of multi-tier web services experience.Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and live site operations.Proven experience with C#, Angular, TypeScript, and JavaScript.Proven experience with Azure cloud architecture (App Services, Service Bus, Azure SQL, and related services).Proven experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices (Azure DevOps, TeamCity, Octopus).Experience with AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Claude Code).Why Work For UsCompetitive Compensation from $170,000-180,000 USD; $150,000-160,000 CANComprehensive Benefit Package** Health, Dental & Vision InsuranceHealth Savings Account (HSA)Flexible Spending Account (FSA)Short & Long Term Disability InsuranceCompany-paid Life InsuranceVoluntary Life InsuranceVoluntary Accident InsuranceEmployee Assistance Program401k with generous Company MatchCommuter BenefitsPaid Time Off accrued per pay period10 Paid HolidaysPaid Parental LeaveAnnual Bonus Program and/or Commission Eligibility (note only put the applicable one)Professional Development OpportunitiesEmployee EventsWellness ProgramsEmployee Discount ProgramsOffice in Park Ridge, IL - Convenient location to Blue Line*Individual compensation packages are based on various factors unique to each candidate, including skill set, experience, qualifications, and other job-related aspects.**Eligible to enroll the first day of employment for immediate coverage.Remote only roles:Although the role is open to remote candidates, PCMI can only hire employees in the following states:AL, CT, FL, GA, IL, KY, LA, MA, MI, MO, NC, NE, NH, NM, OH, PA, SC, TX, WINote: It is required for this role to be in the Park Ridge, IL office 2 days per week if candidate is located in the Chicagoland area.
