Job duties include:

• Assessment, treatment, and patient care responsibilities appropriate to the ages of the patients served.
• Interviewing patients to evaluate physical dysfunction or disability and planning and implementing specific treatment programs.
• Providing treatment of patients in accordance with departmental standards of operation.
• Observing physician's treatment order including rehabilitation goals and recognizing the limitations of treatment.
• Preparing written reports, patient evaluations, care plans, interim progress reports, and discharge summaries.
• Conducting training programs and participating in training medical and nursing personnel in PT techniques and objectives.
• Demonstrating involvement in informal discussions with other staff members participating in the direct or indirect care of the patient.
• Understanding and adhering to the Medical Center's Code of Conduct.
• Familiar with the Medical Center's Mission, Vision, and Values Statements.
• Maintaining established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality improvement programs, safety, and environmental and infection control standards.
• Customer service: respect, flexibility, knowledge, confidence, professionalism, pleasant attitude, patience, and helpfulness.
• Participates in the Student Affiliation Program under the direction of the Rehabilitation Service Director.
• Supervises Physical Therapy Assistant as assigned.
• Performs divisional tasks as assigned.
• Attends team conferences and makes contributions commensurate with the position of staff physical therapist.
• Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.

Basic competencies:

• Education: Minimum - Bachelor's Degree in an accredited program in physical therapy. New Jersey State Physical Therapy license is required. Minimum of Heart Saver Certification required.
• Experience: None required.
• Skills: Good oral and written communication skills. Good interpersonal skills. Speaks, reads, and writes English to the extent required by the position.
• Job setting/physical demands: Acute, Behavioral Health, and the Outpatient areas. Lifts, positions, pushes, and/or transfers patients. Frequent prolonged standing/walking. Manual dexterity and mobility. Heavy exertion when performing treatments. Occasional reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, and/or crouching.

Salary is commensurate with experience within posted range $58.14 PER HOUR. PLUS DIFFERENTIALS EVENING $2.65 PER HOUR, NIGHT $2.65, WEEKEND $2.00.
