Senior Global Commodity Manager- Plastics/MRO/Supplies

The Senior Global Commodity Manager provides enterprise-level leadership for the strategic management of assigned commodities and products across global markets. This role drives alignment between supply strategy and business objectives by partnering closely with cross-functional stakeholders and leading end-to-end supplier lifecycle management, including performance optimization and risk mitigation. This position is accountable for developing and executing forward-looking sourcing strategies that deliver measurable business impact. Success in this role is demonstrated through reducing total cost of ownership, improving revenue and gross margins, strengthening and rationalizing the supply base, elevating product quality, and proactively managing supply and operational risk. The Sr. Global Commodity Manager also champions continuous improvement initiatives and leads complex, high-impact projects that enhance scalability, efficiency, and long-term value creation for the organization. This position is onsite at our Corporate HQ Waukesha, WI location. Develop and execute global sourcing strategies to improve service, quality and total cost of ownership across a global spend portfolio. Manage supplier collaboration to drive innovation and gain a competitive advantage. Work with suppliers to support growth, improve flexibility and manage pricing without impacting service or quality. Conduct regular benchmarking to evaluate costs and capabilities of incumbent and potential suppliers globally. Negotiate, implement and manage supplier contracts, exclusivity and NDA agreements. Drive improvements within shipping, supply chain, material cost and defective material solutions. Drive lean improvement to help improve profitability and drive supply base reduction. Maintain broad knowledge of global market trends for assigned categories. Champion supplier development and quarterly business reviews. Optimize the supply chain of goods and services from our suppliers through to our customers by focusing on lead time reduction. Participate and/or lead cross-functional teams related to quality, price, inventories and availability of materials. Act as SAP Super User within functional area as assigned. Perform other duties as assigned. Basic Qualifications Bachelor Degree in related field OR equivalent experience within a similar working environment; 5 – 7 years experience in Supplier Quality or Management; Ability to travel internationally 30% of the time. Additional Qualifications Demonstrated skills in cost reduction and bidding techniques to maximize value; Proven ability to negotiate with suppliers; Thorough knowledge of purchasing techniques including strategic supplier concepts; Ability to adjust priorities and manage time wisely in a fast-paced environment; Knowledge of supplier contracts, product conformity, quality tool box, and problem solving methodologies; ERP knowledge. Preferred Qualifications MBA preferred; Previous experience with continuous improvement, Six Sigma concepts and methodologies; Previous experience using SAP or equivalent ERP.
