MILK INTAKE OPERATOR

LOCATION: Lena, IL

WAGE: $22/Hour

Job Summary

The Intake Operator is responsible for safely receiving and processing incoming raw milk and dairy ingredients at the facility. This role ensures accurate sampling, testing, weighing, and documentation while maintaining strict food safety, sanitation, and quality standards required in dairy production.

Key Responsibilities

Receive and unload raw milk from tanker trucks and ensure proper transfer into plant storage silos
Collect and label milk samples for quality testing according to plant procedures
Verify deliveries using bills of lading and intake documentation
Monitor milk temperatures, volumes, and flow rates during unloading
Operate intake pumps, valves, and computerized intake systems
Record weights, test results, and delivery information accurately in plant systems
Communicate with truck drivers, quality assurance staff, and production teams regarding incoming loads
Maintain sanitation standards for intake equipment, hoses, and work areas in accordance with food safety regulations
Follow all company safety procedures, GMP guidelines, and dairy industry regulations
Assist with cleaning, sanitation cycles, and general plant support tasks as needed

Qualifications

Minimum of 3 years’ experience as an RO Operator or Intake Operator
High school diploma or GED preferred
Previous experience in manufacturing, food production, dairy processing, or material handling preferred
Mechanical aptitude and ability to operate pumps, valves, and basic processing equipment
Basic math and recordkeeping skills
Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality
Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment
Willingness to follow strict food safety and sanitation procedures
