Job Description
We are seeking a reliable, organized, and caring Part-Time Cook to join our daycare team. This role is responsible for preparing healthy, child-friendly meals and snacks while maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment. The ideal candidate enjoys working in a childcare setting and understands the importance of nutrition for young children.

Schedule

• Monday through Friday
• 4–6 hours per day (daytime shift)
• No evenings or weekends

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve daily meals and snacks for children
• Follow approved menus and nutritional guidelines
• Ensure compliance with all food safety and sanitation standards
• Maintain a clean, organized kitchen and food storage areas
• Monitor and accommodate food allergies and dietary restrictions
• Receive, check, and properly store food deliveries
• Keep records of meals, food temperatures, and inventory, complete food program paperwork
• Work with staff to ensure smooth meal service

Requirements

• Previous cooking experience required (childcare or school setting preferred)
• Knowledge of food safety and proper sanitation practices
• Ability to cook efficiently for groups
• Strong time management and organization skills
• Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently

Preferred Qualifications

• Food Handler’s Permit or ServSafe Certification (or willingness to obtain)
• Experience in daycare, school, or institutional kitchen setting

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand for extended periods
• Ability to lift 25–40 lbs
