Job Title: Loader / Material Handler
Job Description

This role focuses on safely moving and preparing large industrial materials throughout a custom fabrication and painting facility. You will operate tuggers and sit-down forklifts to transport wagons, tanks, pipes, and other large steel components, support paint preparation activities, and ensure finished parts are properly staged for drying and shipment.

Responsibilities

• Operate tuggers and sit-down forklifts to move wagons and materials in and out of the blasting area and paint booths.
• Handle large industrial pipes, tanks, and steel components safely and efficiently throughout the facility.
• Use work orders to identify and mask off required areas of industrial pipes and other large steel materials before they enter the paint booth.
• Coordinate the flow of parts from blasting to paint prep, through painting, and then to the loading dock.
• Transport painted parts to the loading dock for drying and final staging prior to shipment.
• Assist with loading and unloading materials as needed using forklifts and other material handling equipment.
• Perform general labor tasks such as assembly, framing, and use of hand tools to support production and paint preparation activities.
• Follow all safety procedures while operating forklifts, overhead cranes (if trained), and other equipment.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area in the warehouse, paint prep, and loading dock areas.
• Read, understand, and follow work orders and written instructions to ensure correct handling and processing of materials.

• At least 1 year of forklift and warehouse experience.
• Proven ability to safely operate sit-down forklifts in an industrial or warehouse environment.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, verified through reference checks.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English to follow work orders, safety instructions, and production documentation.
• Experience performing general labor tasks such as loading, unloading, and material handling.
• Comfort working around paint processes, blasting operations, and large industrial parts.

• Previous paint preparation experience, including masking and prepping parts for painting, is a strong plus.
• Experience operating an overhead crane is highly beneficial.
• Background in warehouse, assembly, framing, or similar industrial environments.
• Familiarity with hand tools and basic mechanical tasks.
• Ability to work overtime as needed on both first and second shifts.

You will join a specialized industrial environment where you can develop and expand your material handling skills while working with unique, large-scale projects. The operation offers structured shifts with overtime opportunities, providing both stability and the potential for additional earnings. You will work alongside a skilled team in a setting that values safe practices, hands-on learning, and practical experience with a variety of equipment and processes.

Work Environment

The role is based in a small custom shop that primarily serves piping and related industries, handling large tanks, pipes, and other sizable steel parts. Work takes place in an industrial setting that includes blasting areas, paint booths, and a loading dock, with frequent use of tuggers, sit-down forklifts, overhead cranes (where applicable), and hand tools. The environment involves exposure to paint processes and heavy materials, requiring consistent attention to safety and proper handling techniques. First shift typically runs from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., with overtime from 5:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Second shift operates from 2:30 p.m. to 1:00 a.m., Monday through Thursday, with overtime scheduled on Sunday night.

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of De Pere, WI.

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $28.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in De Pere,WI.
