Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery

Job Description

Job Summary:
Provide specialized nursing care to women during labor, delivery, and postpartum periods, ensuring the safety and well-being of mother and newborn. Collaborate with healthcare teams to deliver high-risk obstetric services in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

• Assess and monitor maternal and fetal status throughout labor and delivery.
• Administer medications and manage IV therapies, epidurals, and other interventions as prescribed.
• Operate fetal monitoring equipment and interpret data to ensure fetal well-being.
• Prepare and assist with labor, delivery, and postpartum procedures, including operative births.
• Educate patients and families on postpartum care, newborn care, and breastfeeding.
• Document clinical assessments and interventions accurately in electronic medical records.

Qualifications:

• Hold a valid RN license with a minimum of 5 years' experience in high-risk labor and delivery nursing.
• Demonstrate prior OB and travel nursing experience in similar clinical settings.
• Maintain current certifications in NRP, ACLS, and BLS; fetal monitoring certification preferred.
• Possess strong clinical assessment skills and the ability to work under pressure.
• Ability to work 12-hour night shifts, including every other weekend and call rotation.
• Experience with Epic EMR and Pysis patient management system preferred.
