Fleet Lube & Tire Technician (Entry-Level Mechanic Opportunity)

Description Fleet Lube & Tire Technician Location: Shakopee, MN Pay: $20.00-$25.00 per hour (Based on Experience) Job Purpose Palmer Bus Service is seeking a dependable Fleet Lube & Tire Technician to join our Shakopee maintenance team. This entry-level position is responsible for performing preventative maintenance, tire services, inspections, and supporting our experienced mechanics in maintaining a safe and reliable fleet. This is a great opportunity for someone interested in starting a career in fleet maintenance. You will gain hands-on experience working with commercial vehicles while learning from experienced technicians and building skills that can lead to future advancement opportunities within our maintenance department. What You'll Do Perform preventative maintenance on school buses, vans, and other company vehicles. Complete oil changes, filter replacements, lubrication services, and routine maintenance tasks. Rotate tires, check tire pressure, and assist with tire maintenance. Inspect vehicles for leaks, worn components, and potential maintenance concerns. Perform basic vehicle inspections and report findings to the mechanic or shop manager. Assist mechanics with repairs and maintenance as needed. Maintain accurate service records and documentation. Maintain shop equipment and ensure tools are kept in good working condition. Keep the shop clean, organized, and safe. Communicate vehicle concerns and repair needs with the maintenance team. Perform other duties as assigned to support the maintenance department. What We're Looking For Interest in automotive, diesel, fleet, or mechanical work. Previous automotive, tire, farm, equipment, or mechanical experience preferred but not required. Willingness to learn and develop new skills. Ability to follow directions and complete tasks safely and efficiently. Strong attention to detail. Dependable work habits and a positive attitude. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. License Requirements Valid driver's license required. Must possess, or be able to obtain, a Minnesota Class B Commercial Driver's License with Passenger, School Bus, and Air Brake endorsements. Training provided if needed.
