Job Overview Pay Rate: $68,904 to $75,000 per year, depending on experience. Telecommute Status: Onsite. Location: US-CA-Oxnard. Job Code: 877-PR-Custodial Mgr - PnL. Salary Grade: E13. FLSA Status: Exempt. Approval Date: August 2021. Position Summary The Custodial Manager oversees and manages custodial services at a customer site or multiple sites within a geographic area. The role includes interface with customers, organizing and assigning work, establishing processes and procedures, ensuring safety and quality programs are followed, and managing budgets and expenses of contracts. Requires knowledge of custodial practices, contract and staff management, and experience working with developmentally disabled and/or physically challenged adults. Typical Duties Coordinates, directs, and manages custodial supervisors and staff to perform cleaning and maintenance duties, ensuring facilities remain clean and free of safety hazards. Ensures services are provided within contract terms and maintains records of all work performed. Responsible for all costs and expenses associated with the contract(s), maintaining a professional relationship with customers, ensuring services meet contract standards, and resolving service issues. Supervises employees; hires, trains, develops, counsels and reviews employee performance. Organizes, assigns, and coordinates work, managing staff, client workers, and contract vendors to perform custodial services. Schedules and prioritizes tasks, ensuring adherence to procedures, regulations, and guidelines while minimizing errors and safety risks. Oversees rehab counseling, training and assistance for client workers who are adults with developmental or physical challenges. Creates and documents behavioral and vocational objectives; maintains related reports and files. Conducts and participates in staff, leadership, committee, and off‑site meetings; prepares agendas, rosters, and presentation materials. Prepares and submits recurring reports, business correspondence, agendas, presentation materials, and certificates. Acts as an information source regarding contracts, services, and operations. Performs other duties and special projects as assigned. Minimum Qualifications High School Diploma or G.E.D. Three or more years of experience in custodial services and/or building maintenance, including one year of supervisory experience. Experience working with adults with developmental disabilities and/or physical challenges (preferred). Knowledge of Cal OSHA and OSHA occupational safety and environmental regulations. Supervisory skills to hire qualified employees, provide professional development, administer performance management and disciplinary processes, and address employee relations. Ability to effectively supervise and develop an assigned team to meet production/service goals while adhering to safety policies. Strong communication skills (oral and written), including the ability to make presentations and respond to inquiries by senior management, customers, and employees. Demonstrated leadership, organizational, reasoning, problem‑solving and analytical skills. Exceptional customer service skills. Human‑relation skills to build effective relationships with team, customers and the public. Advanced computer literacy; knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, database, and presentation software. Knowledge of business English, vocabulary, spelling, and correct grammatical usage. Mathematical skills, including ability to apply fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions in practice. Ability to establish priorities and solve a wide range of business, operational and strategic management problems. Flexibility to respond to changing priorities and handle multiple projects concurrently. Bilingual in English/Spanish (preferred). Education Requirements High School Diploma or GED. Certificates or Licenses Required Valid driver’s license; additional licenses or certificates may be required per local, state or contract requirements. Physical Requirements View computer screen/monitor; utilize keyboard. Answer phone/make calls. Maneuver in and around worksite. Stand and walk. Bend, kneel, squat and stoop. Work Environment Work performed in office environment or at customer locations. Employees may be exposed to toxic chemicals, noise from equipment, and weather conditions. Travel to other worksites may be required. Employees may be required to work in excess of 8 hours in a day and/or 40 hours per week.
