Health & Safety Specialist

Summary As a Health and Safety Specialist, you will support the development and continuous improvement of workplace Health & Safety programs by anticipating, recognizing, evaluating, and controlling hazards. This role partners with employees and leadership to build a strong safety culture, ensure regulatory compliance, reduce risk, and promote a safe working environment across plant operations and administrative offices. Responsibilities Assist with administration and maintenance of the Learning Management System (LMS) for annual safety training assignments and completion tracking Oversee one or more site-wide health and safety programs and serve as champion of the workplace safety system Support delivery of safety training for employees, contractors, and visitors Ensure effective hazard identification, risk mitigation, and corrective actions for plant operations and office areas Conduct daily line walks to verify Health & Safety practices are being followed and identify at‑risk behaviors, unsafe conditions, faulty equipment, or policy non‑compliance Communicate safety concerns, incidents, and corrective actions to department leadership in a timely manner Partner with cross‑functional teams to drive continuous improvement in safety performance Support incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action tracking Conduct new equipment safety reviews, machine risk assessments, and ergonomic evaluations Support emergency response planning, drills, critiques, and readiness activities Assist with new hire orientation, contractor safety onboarding, and other Health & Safety training topics Support workplace compliance evaluations related to local, state, and federal regulations Perform job site audits, inspections, and compliance assessments Ensure compliance with applicable OSHA and other Health & Safety regulations and standards Maintain safety records, training documentation, and audit reports Support implementation of corrective and preventive actions to reduce workplace risk Maintain cleanliness at the worksite in accordance with 5S3R Standards: Sort, Set in order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain Right Location, Right Quantity, Right Container Perform other duties as assigned Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health, Industrial Hygiene, or related field required; equivalent relevant experience may be considered Bilingual in English/Spanish or English/Korean preferred, but not required Knowledge of workplace safety principles, hazard recognition, and regulatory compliance Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment Experience 1 to 3 years of experience evaluating, implementing, and improving Health & Safety programs in a manufacturing or general industry environment Strong knowledge of and experience working with OSHA and applicable state/local regulations and requirements Experience conducting audits, inspections, incident investigations, and corrective action follow‑up preferred Must be comfortable working in a collaborative team setting Experience delivering training and supporting employee engagement initiatives preferred Skills Proficient in Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint Skilled in analyzing and evaluating technical data, test results, and reports Positive attitude, self‑driven, and results‑oriented approach Strong interpersonal skills with demonstrated effectiveness in accomplishing goals Strong organizational and communication skills Ability to work flexible hours as needed to support all production shifts and operational needs Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines Strong problem‑solving and decision‑making skills Equal Opportunity Employer LG Energy Solution is an Equal Opportunity Employer and considers all qualified applicants without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, or any other protected status under applicable law.
