PORTFOLIO STRATEGIST

Summary As a Portfolio Strategist, you will be an investment professional responsible for representing Manning & Napier’s investment strategies and capabilities to clients and prospects. You will act as an integral part of the sales and service process and possess deep knowledge about the investment strategy, portfolio positioning, and rationale for specific holdings within the portfolio. This knowledge enables the Portfolio Strategist to credibly represent the portfolio process to key clients, including consultants, advisors, institutions, and direct client relationships. You are generally not responsible for maintaining any client, prospect, or intermediary relationships on your own; instead, you work side-by-side with our sales professionals to meet client needs. However, at certain times and for specific key relationships you may be the lead relationship professional. You will serve as the firm’s primary spokesperson for the assigned products and must develop and maintain a strong knowledge of product features, including investment, operational, and competitive aspects. You will collaborate with the Product Manager to develop messaging and content for the respective investment strategies. You will also actively engage in portfolio management discussions with the investment team, with a focus on conveying this information effectively to colleagues, prospects, clients, and intermediaries. You must have a strong understanding of the markets and be perceived as a credible investor from both a fundamental analysis and macroeconomic perspective. Responsibilities Meet with clients and prospects across multiple sales channels (Consultant Relations, Institutional Sales, Taft-Hartley, Intermediary Distribution, Wealth Management) Final presentations and client service meetings Facilitate and participate in due diligence meetings and reviews Speak at sales/marketing meetings, client seminars, conferences, and other media outlets Contribute to production of original investment content for internal and external distribution Responsible for creating, updating, and maintaining all strategy-related marketing materials Work directly with Sales Management and Marketing Director on product placement and distribution related strategies and content Participate in product development discussions Qualifications 7+ years’ experience in investment-related experience in the investment management industry Excellent presentation and communication skills Strong analytical ability and knowledge of investment markets Confidence and presence in client sales/service settings Exhibits the ability to work in a team-oriented environment across multiple disciplines and departments Ability to train and mentor junior team members Nationwide coverage demanding approximately 30-50% travel time CFA and/or MBA strongly preferred CAIA or prior Alternatives Strategy experience strongly preferred Perks Health, dental & vision insurance Employer HSA contribution Opt out credit 401k employer match Paid volunteer days Gym reimbursement Compensation Expected base salary of $115-125k; additional incentive compensation expected.
