Join Our Dynamic Team as a Med/Surg RN for Night Shifts!

Job Description:
- Unit Overview:
- Med/Surg unit including 2 West, 6 West, 7 South, 4 Wiser, and 5 Wiser
- Total Beds:
- 2 West: 13
- 6 West: 14
- 7 South: 12
- 4 Wiser: 30
- 5 Wiser: 25


- Nurse-Patient Ratios:
- Typical ratio: 1:5 to 1:6
- Adjusted for higher acuity patients


- Required Certifications:
- BLS
- ACLS for charge RNs


- Patient Demographics:
- General Med/Surg, including:
- Congestive heart failure
- Diabetes
- Post-surgical care
- Trauma
- Acute kidney injury
- Sickle cell anemia
- Respiratory illnesses


- Experience & Skills Required:
- Level 1 trauma experience
- Experience in larger facilities with high acuity patients
- Comfort with lines and chest tubes


- IV Drips & Monitoring:
- Nurses may titrate heparin and amiodarone drips in specific patient transfers
- Central monitoring with communication to RN
- Telemetry capabilities available on every unit


- Nursing Leadership Structure:
- Charge nurse has light patient assignment but may take full load when needed
- Nurse managers and house supervisors available in-house


- Support Staff:
- Nurse aids available on all units
- Respiratory therapy support for CPAP and BiPAP


- Scheduling Options:
- 12-hour shifts: 7a-7p or 7p-7a
- Closed to block scheduling based on department needs
- Weekend rotations every other or 2 weekends per month


- Orientation & Onboarding:
- Comprehensive first-day orientation
- Hands-on training with preceptors during the first shifts
