We are looking for an experienced Accounting Manager to lead the financial operations of a growing legal organization in Charlotte, North Carolina. This position serves as a key advisor to firm leadership, combining hands-on accounting oversight with strategic financial guidance. The role is well suited for an individual who can strengthen reporting accuracy, support planning efforts, and help build effective processes across finance and operations.

Responsibilities:
• Direct daily accounting activities, ensuring accurate recordkeeping and reliable financial oversight across the firm.
• Maintain the general ledger, review reconciliations, and verify that financial data is complete and properly supported.
• Manage cash-based accounting processes, including bank account reconciliation and ongoing cash management coordination.
• Oversee trust accounting functions and confirm that related transactions and balances are reconciled accurately.
• Prepare recurring financial reports and analysis for leadership to support operational and strategic decisions.
• Contribute to month-end and year-end close activities, including journal entries, supporting schedules, and documentation readiness.
• Partner with leadership on budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis to improve financial visibility and planning.
• Supervise payroll and benefits-related financial processes, working with external providers and internal staff to ensure timely and accurate execution.
• Monitor financial activity for inconsistencies, unusual transactions, or emerging issues, and recommend corrective action when needed.
• Collaborate with outside accounting advisors and other financial partners to support audits, compliance, and reporting needs.• 7+ years of accounting or finance experience, including leadership responsibility in a detail-focused services environment.
• Strong background in month-end close, general ledger management, account reconciliation, and journal entry preparation.
• Experience producing financial reports, supporting audits, and maintaining accurate accounting documentation.
• Knowledge of trust accounting and trust account reconciliation within a regulated or legal setting.
• Proficiency with QuickBooks and confidence working with accounting systems and financial reporting tools.
• Familiarity with payroll oversight, benefits-related financial administration, and vendor coordination.
• Ability to analyze financial results, identify variances or irregularities, and communicate findings clearly to leadership.
