Job Description\n American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN ED - Emergency Department for a travel nursing job in Rochester, New York.Job Description & Requirements\n \n Specialty: ED - Emergency Department\n Discipline: RN\n Start Date: 10/06/2026\n Duration: 13 weeks\n 48 hours per week\n Shift: 12 hours, flexible\n Employment Type: Travel\n \n Assignment Overview\n \n Shift: Variable, 4x12hrs\n Hours: 48 hrs/wk\n Start Date: Oct 6, 2026\n Length: 13 weeks\n Openings: 1\n Description\n American Traveler is hiring an experienced Emergency Department RN for a 13-week night/evening rotation requiring an active NY RN license and EPIC experience.Details\n \n ER unit caring for adult and geriatric patients with all emergency-type diagnoses\n 1:5 patient ratio\n 4x12 shift rotation, 2 weeks evenings (3p-3a) and 2 weeks nights (7p-7a)\n Every other weekend rotation required\n Every other holiday coverage required if needed\n Floating required within skillset\n Uses specialized equipment including Bair hugger, rapid infuser, and safe patient handling equipment\n EPIC charting experience required\n Requirements\n \n Active NY Single State RN license required in hand (NY is not a compact state)\n Minimum 2 years of RN experience required\n BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required; PALS and TNCC preferred\n EPIC charting experience required\n Skilled in IV therapy including blood product administration, central line care, phlebotomy, and starting/maintaining IVs\n Experience with IV vasopressors, CPAP/BiPAP, and ventilator management\n Experience managing CVA, neuro-trauma, spinal cord injury, and TBI patients\n Skilled in cardiac monitoring including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias\n Emergency care experience including adult/pediatric ED, gunshot wounds, and ortho trauma\n Experience with isolation precautions and triage\n Additional Information\n \n Work in a state-of-the-art, 24/7 ED with centralized layout, advanced diagnostic technology, a dedicated pediatric ED, a crisis intervention unit, and a trauma suite near the ambulance entrance\n Facility is a 528-bed Magnet-recognized academic teaching hospital certified as an Advanced Thrombectomy Capable Stroke Center\n Scrub color requirement: any combination of navy blue and white\n First-time travelers are welcome to apply\n Candidates residing within 75 miles of the facility are not accepted\n Returning staff must wait 6 months system-wide before reapplying\n RTO requests must be submitted at time of application\n \n \n American Traveler Job ID #P-750834.
