We are looking for a Patient Service Representative to support front-end patient access activities for a healthcare organization. This Long-term Contract, possible contract to hire, position is 100% on site and focuses on preparing patients for upcoming visits by confirming key registration details, coordinating scheduling, and helping ensure coverage requirements are in place before services are delivered. The ideal candidate brings strong communication skills, attention to detail, and prior experience working with patient information, insurance verification, and authorization processes.

Responsibilities:

• Complete pre-service registration activities to help ensure patient accounts are ready before scheduled appointments or procedures.

• Review and confirm demographic, insurance, and other account details for accuracy within the practice management system.

• Arrange appointments and enter required visit information promptly to support efficient patient access workflows.

• Secure prior authorizations, referrals, or pre-certifications when payer guidelines require approval before treatment.

• Respond to inbound inquiries from patients and internal teams regarding scheduling, coverage, and registration matters.

• Support financial clearance efforts by identifying missing information and following up to resolve account issues before the date of service.

• Maintain accurate documentation of updates, verification results, and authorization activity within the appropriate systems.

• Collaborate with clinical, billing, and administrative teams to reduce delays and improve the patient intake experienc

• At least 1 year of experience in a patient access, scheduling, registration, or related healthcare support role.
• Working knowledge of insurance verification, benefit review, authorization procedures, and financial clearance activities.
• Experience using healthcare or business systems such as Allscripts, Cerner, CRM platforms, Dentrix, or similar applications.
• Ability to manage inbound calls professionally while gathering accurate patient and coverage information.
• Strong data entry skills with close attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining accurate records.
• Familiarity with billing-related functions and the coordination of patient account information across departments.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact clearly with patients, payers, and internal staff.
