Key Responsibilities\n

  • Conduct comprehensive interviews and assessments of clients and their families to understand their social, emotional, and financial circumstances, paving the way for tailored care that maximizes the benefits of medical treatment.

  • Provide telehealth counseling through video calls and virtual platforms, employing a variety of trauma-informed therapeutic techniques specifically designed for those facing substance use difficulties and traumatic experiences.

  • Research, advocate, and refer clients to critical community resources, such as housing support, food assistance, and healthcare services, thus enhancing their overall well-being and recovery journey.

  • Respond swiftly to crisis situations, such as child abuse or mental health emergencies, ensuring that at-risk clients receive timely and appropriate intervention.

  • Regularly monitor clients' progress, implementing follow-up procedures to assess the effectiveness of treatment strategies and making adjustments as needed to support their recovery.

  • Utilize electronic health records (EHR) and billing systems to manage documentation efficiently, ensuring compliance with Department of Mental Health policies and standards.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

This position primarily focuses on supporting individuals navigating substance use disorders and trauma, including Veterans. You will engage with patients from diverse backgrounds, recognizing the unique challenges they face and providing culturally sensitive care tailored to their individual situations.

Qualifications\n

  • A Master’s degree in Social Work, with a valid California LCSW license is mandatory.
  • \n
  • Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience providing mental health services, particularly within health-related settings.
  • \n
  • A strong understanding of mental health billing practices, especially relating to the Department of Mental Health.
  • \n
  • Experience in parent-child intervention strategies, as well as a solid knowledge of child development and the dynamics of parenting.
  • \n
  • Exceptional verbal communication abilities, necessary for effective counseling and advising of patients from various backgrounds.

Preferred Experience\n

  • Prior experience working with Veterans and understanding their specific mental health needs.

Compensation and Benefits\n
