Registered Nurse (RN) - Night Shift 3x12

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) maintains the delivery of quality care by ensuring that the nursing care plan is followed while supervising Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees. The RN adheres to the core values of safety, teamwork, and superior quality in all activities.

Responsibilities

• Conduct nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission, forming the basis of an individualized plan of care.
• Identify teaching needs and goals related to patient diagnoses through collaboration with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team.
• Provide timely patient information and status updates for team conferences.
• Document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and promptly in the medical record.
• Participate in the patient rehabilitation program by utilizing the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
• Initiate discharge planning and patient education from the day of admission.
• Communicate changes in patient status across care providers to ensure continuity of care.
• Provide direction, training, and supervision of ancillary nursing personnel.
• Ensure personal and environmental safety in accordance with hospital policies.
• Contribute positively to unit functioning through effective communication and teamwork.
• Maintain communication with management regarding service needs and supplies.
• Assume charge responsibility as requested after the orientation period.
• Engage in professional growth through continuing education and self-study.
• Perform other duties as requested.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• BLS Certification required prior to the first shift.
• ACLS Certification required prior to the first shift (CIRH only).
• Minimum two years of bedside clinical experience highly desired.

Schedule

This position follows a night shift schedule of 3x12 hours.
