Sr. HVAC Controls Service Technician

Primary service and maintenance contact for Trane Technologies customers in a defined market with a diverse commercial base including Healthcare, Process Manufacturing Facilities, Education Institutions, and Office Complexes. Responsibilities Responsible for end-to-end testing, downloading programming, starting up, commissioning, and servicing on assigned projects. Serve as the direct customer contact, ensuring customer satisfaction by identifying, examining, diagnosing, and repairing equipment and systems at the customer’s location. Coordinate with team leader/project manager and customer to understand installation and repair requirements, forecast issues, gather materials, and synchronize on-site work. Diagnose and repair units using cutting-edge software, technology, and hand‑tools, following blueprints or engineering specifications. Enforce safety to the highest standards and maintain security and accountability of company issued and procured assets by recording use, wear, and conditions. Mentor team members. Demonstrate flexibility to work overtime, weekends, and occasional overnight stays as business requires. Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent, or certificate of completion from an accredited technical school (required). At least 10 years of experience in controls (preferred); suitable technical school or formal training is preferred. Operating knowledge of Microsoft Office and working proficiency with handheld computers (e.g., Smartphone, iPad). Valid driver’s license for a minimum of 12 months with no major or frequent traffic violations (including DUI, Hit & Run, license suspension, reckless/careless driving, or multiple minor infractions or collisions in the previous 3 years). Ability to safely and legally operate a vehicle using a seat belt. Must wear helmets, safety goggles, fall protection harness, and safety boots; must twist the trunk of the body 90 degrees in each direction; must squat and touch the floor with both hands; must reach hands over the head; must stand on concrete surfaces for extended periods, routinely up to 4 hours. Regular use of hands, fingers, walking, stooping, kneeling, and climbing ladders; must lift or move up to 10 lbs. regularly, 40 lbs. frequently, and occasionally more than 40 lbs.; must use a ladder with a 375 lb. total weight limit while carrying equipment of 50 lbs. or less. Must maneuver confined access areas as small as 30” vertical x 45” horizontal; must access rooftops with extension and/or fixed ladders at heights of 15’ to 20’, occasionally up to 50+ feet. Exposure to variable weather conditions, moving mechanical parts, heights, risk of electrical shock, and noisy operating equipment is expected. Compensation Hourly base pay range: $33.84 - $45.73. Compensation is tailored to factors such as seniority, merit, geographic location, education, experience, travel requirements, and union designation. Safety Sensitive Role Yes.
