Part Time Associate Veterinarian - Alondra Animal Hospital

Position Overview Join our team as a Part‑Time Veterinarian with predictable hours and a consistent home hospital assignment. The role offers flexibility while working alongside a locally led care team supported by national resources. Key Responsibilities Perform comprehensive patient examinations and medical work‑ups Communicate and educate clients regarding their pets’ care Perform diagnostic procedures and surgical interventions Maintain accurate medical records Prescribe medications and follow controlled substance protocols Promote teamwork and staff efficiency Collaborate with the Hospital Manager on weekly priorities and expectations Evaluate and monitor hospital protocols from intake to discharge Attend daily rounds when possible to uphold highest standards Participate in practice management updates and training at all levels Perform other duties as assigned by Management Qualifications (Required) Veterinarian degree (DVM or VMD) from an accredited institution Active State Veterinary License DEA registration maintained 1+ year experience in veterinary practice Strong diagnostic and clinical skills Excellent surgical and dental skills Team‑oriented work style Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills Commitment to compassionate, high‑quality veterinary care Effective communication with Medical and Hospital staff Client communication skills: eliciting information, establishing rapport, providing clear explanations Confidence and reassurance when handling stressed, ill or painful pets Ability to lift up to 50 lbs Capacity for some climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling; moderate physical demand Preferred Skills (Nice to Have) Clinical knowledge across all systems and prescribed treatment plans Problem‑solving to improve hospital management and quality Effective communication of diagnostic/therapeutic options to clients and staff Professionalism with constructive feedback Business acumen related to hospital management and finance Knowledge of ethical principles guiding patient care decisions Commitment to continuing education and learning facilitation Benefits Signing, retention, and relocation packages up to $50,000 401(k) participation Team Member Pet Discounts License and dues reimbursement Continuing education stipends and resources Supportive home hospital environment with national resources Pay Range $150,000 — $170,000 USD PetVet is an equal opportunity employer.
