About the Position of Automotive Mechanic As Mavis's leaders in undercar repairs, our Automotive Mechanics inspect, diagnose, and perform a wide variety of automotive services on customers' vehicles. They handle undercar repairs including brakes, struts, and shocks, complete state‑mandated inspections, change oil and filters, check fluids, replace worn parts, and dismount, mount, rotate, and balance tires. Qualifications Required qualifications: At least 18 years of age. Legally authorized to work in the United States. 2 years of experience and/or training in automotive repair and maintenance or a combination of education, training, and experience that demonstrates ability to perform the duties of the position. Extensive toolbox of personal tools used in performing undercar repairs. Preferred qualifications: State inspection license(s). ASE Certifications in Automotive Maintenance and Light Repair (G1), Suspension and Steering (A4), and Brakes (A5). Physical requirements: mechanics must stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl, climb, pull, reach, and perform repeated movements consistent with vehicle maintenance and automotive repair.
