Location: Avon Lake, OH
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM
Lead. Machine. Mentor.
Watteredge is looking for an experienced 2nd Shift CNC Team Lead to provide hands-on leadership within our machine shop. This position is ideal for an experienced CNC machinist who enjoys leading a team while staying involved with machine setups, troubleshooting, and production.
What You'll Do
Lead and support CNC machinists and operators on second shift.
Set up and operate CNC mills and lathes.
Assist with tooling, fixtures, offsets, and complex machine setups.
Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, tolerances, and GD&T.
Work with X, Y, and Z axes, including 4th and 5thaxis machining.
Understand and make edits to G & M Codes, speeds, feeds, and tooling offsets.
Troubleshoot machining, tooling, programming, and quality issues.
Inspect finished parts using micrometers, calipers, and other precision measuring equipment.
Coordinate daily assignments and help ensure production goals are met.
Train, mentor, and support CNC operators.
Work with Engineering, Quality, and Production to resolve issues and improve processes.
Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
Additional duties as assigned
What We're Looking For
Previous CNC machining experience with mills and lathes.
Strong CNC setup, operation, and troubleshooting experience.
Team Lead, Senior Machinist, or other leadership experience preferred.
Ability to read blueprints and understand machining tolerances.
Knowledge of G & M Codes and CNC program adjustments.
Experience using precision measuring equipment.
Strong mechanical aptitude and problemsolving skills.
Ability to lead by example and communicate effectively with the team.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds as needed.
