Extinguisher Technician
The primary focus of this role will be the organization, maintenance, and management of extinguisher shop items, with additional responsibility pertaining to external extinguisher service and deliveries. A take-home work vehicle is provided.
Key Responsibilities
- Dismantle extinguishers and examine mechanical parts, extinguishing agents, and expelling contents
- Replace worn or damaged parts, recharge extinguishers with approved materials
- Hydrotesting/Hydrostatic Requalification of Fire Extinguisher Cylinders
- Organization of shop area
- Keeping track of inventory
- Deliver material to inspectors in the field and also outside branches
- Perform installation of fire extinguisher cabinets and portable fire extinguishers
- Assist with extinguisher inspections
Important Skills
- Skilled in repair, maintenance and testing of portable fire extinguishers
- Ability to work independently and efficiently to complete assigned tasks
- Strong organizational skills
- Proficient in the use of mobile technology platforms
