Clinical Laboratory Technologist - West Emergency Department

Labcorp seeks a Clinical Laboratory Technologist for the night shift in the Emergency Department at Ascension West in Wichita, Kansas. The role involves performing clinical laboratory testing, operating instrumentation, and ensuring specimen quality and accuracy in a high-volume hospital environment.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate specimen acceptability according to established quality criteria
• Perform routine and complex technical testing procedures following departmental protocols
• Monitor, operate, and troubleshoot laboratory instrumentation
• Prepare and evaluate new reagents and controls; document quality control procedures
• Report test results accurately and timely to support patient care

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical or Biological Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology
• 1+ years clinical laboratory testing experience or MLS degree
• ASCP or AMT certification preferred
• 1+ years hospital laboratory microbiology experience preferred
• Ability to pass standardized color blindness test
• Proficiency with laboratory information systems and computers
• Strong attention to detail, communication, and organizational skills
