Under limited supervision, maintains and implements a safe and effective corrective maintenance program for complex operations involving carpentry, electrical, HVAC, and plumbing systems within assigned buildings. Responsibilities include submitting, receiving, and accurately processing work orders; coordinating with supervisors and coworkers; and performing tasks such as planning, inspecting, verifying, communicating, and resolving facility maintenance issues. Ensures that all facility systems remain in safe working order and compliant with applicable national and local codes, while consistently demonstrating professionalism in conduct, appearance, and work practices. - Requires job related accreditation from a technical school or an applicable skilled trades program and 2 or more years of job related experience, which may be substituted by an equivalent combination of job related certification, training, education, and/or experience.
- Driver's license required.
- Demonstrated ability to use a computer.
- Ability to develop and maintain strong customer service skills, maintain harmonious working relationship with departmental staff.
- Ability work independently, maintain functional awareness of typical hazards with in the work place.
- Ability to work within established resources, communicate both orally and in writing, maintain accurate records relating to time, materials and services provided, organize, plan and prioritize work.
