Job Title Building Services Assistant Manager II (Shift 2), Sequoyah Elementary School Location & Schedule Primary location: Sequoyah Elementary School Shift: Evening Job Schedule: Full-time (80 hours bi‑weekly) Contract Length: 12 months Position: Grade 11 (Optimal Qualified) Summary Employees in this class are assigned to the later afternoon, evening, and night hours and are responsible for the cleanliness, upkeep, and security of the school facility while on duty. At the direction of the building services manager, the incumbent supervises workers performing assigned afternoon and evening cleaning duties. The assistant manager represents school administration when interacting with staff and community groups authorized to use classrooms and other facilities. The assistant manager’s classification and pay grade is determined annually and is based on facility size, projected use, and number of relocatable classrooms; it may not exceed the pay grade of the building services manager. Responsibilities Monitor cleanliness, upkeep, and security of assigned facilities during the shift. Supervise, train, and assign custodial staff performing evening cleaning duties. Maintain records of time and materials, and prepare routine reports. Serve as a representative of school administration to staff, community groups, and ICB administrators. Respond to emergencies, report to buildings during inclement weather, and assist staff in emergency situations. Work overtime and night hours as required. Qualifications Completion of ninth grade required; high school diploma or GED preferred. Experience in cleaning and upkeep of school buildings is required, with some positions requiring significant supervisory experience of building service personnel. Knowledge of building service work, equipment, safe operating procedures for central heating plants, and ability to perform minor adjustments and repairs. Knowledge of building security procedures. Ability to train, assign, supervise, and inspect the work of subordinates; maintain records; and prepare reports. Strong interpersonal, communication, organizational, and problem‑solving skills. Possession of a current valid boiler certificate and stationary engineer's license preferred. Ability to lift and move heavy objects (minimum 50 lbs.) and perform manual labor. Additional Requirements Employees are considered emergency personnel; required to report to buildings during inclement weather and may be required to report to other locations to assist staff. Uniform and proper attire must be worn. Must provide a current working telephone number to the supervisor and update it as necessary.
