Skilled Laborer/Certified Welder

Position Summary Geotechnical Skilled Laborer responsible for working across the Mid‑Atlantic on geotechnical construction projects. The role requires year‑round outdoor work in diverse weather conditions. Candidates must communicate effectively, work well with others, and possess experience in earth work, drilling, concrete, welding, and small tool operation. AWS welding certifications D1.1 or D1.5 are strongly desired. Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are required, as is willingness to travel throughout Virginia, DC, Maryland, and North Carolina. Compensation Pay Range: $20.00/hr – $27.00/hr (based on experience). Responsibilities Carry, load, or unload materials. Dig using picks, shovels, air hammers, jack hammers, or other construction equipment. Arrive on time and participate in job discussions and daily safety meetings. Lift and place lagging boards onto shoring walls. Operate and maintain construction equipment such as grout machines, drilling machines, and compressors. Manage hoses for all types of machines on the job site. Adhere to safety protocols and wear proper PPE. Physical and Environmental Requirements Lift up to 60 pounds from ground to waist level and 30 pounds to shoulder level. Continuous standing and walking throughout the shift. Climb ladders and work at heights up to 150 feet. Bend, squat, kneel, crawl, and perform fine manipulation tasks. Work outdoors in wet, muddy, cold, hot, and humid conditions. Acceptable corrected vision and hearing required. Qualifications High School diploma or GED. Construction experience (foundations, earth retention, caisson, tiebacks, drill rigs, small diameter drills, shotcrete) is required. AWS welding certification (preferred D1.1 and/or D1.5). Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Travel Requirement Required to travel throughout Virginia, DC, Maryland, and North Carolina.
