Plasma Center Nurse- LPN

Position Overview Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) supporting Biolife Plasma Services operations. Reports to the Plasma Center Manager and works under the guidance of the Center Physician for medical issues. Responsibilities Determine donor eligibility, including informed consent, AIDS education, self‑exclusion, medical history interview, acceptance requirements, physical examination, blood testing, and review of Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE). Evaluate donor reactions per SOPs and follow applicable emergency procedures, including facilitating donor transport to emergency care. Consult with the Center Physician or Medical Affairs on unacceptable findings or medical/technical issues affecting donor safety and eligibility. Support Hepatitis B and seasonal flu vaccination programs for employees. Manage employee incidents and determine whether further evaluation is needed by occupational health or ER. Act as a Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and support investigations of local pandemic threats. Requirements High school diploma or equivalent; or graduate equivalent of a recognized nursing program with state licensing. Current state license (LPN or LVN) and CPR/AED certification. Basic IV therapy certification in the state of licensure. Completion of FDA approved training for BioLife Medical Support Specialist. Minimum two years of clinical or hospital experience.
