Psychiatry - Addiction Physician

A community hospital in Brooklyn, NY is seeking an Addiction Psychiatrist to provide comprehensive inpatient and outpatient care for patients with substance use disorders and co-occurring psychiatric conditions. The role offers collaborative, multidisciplinary practice within an integrated behavioral health setting.
About the Opportunity:
- Shift: Day shift
- Schedule: Full-time, Monday through Thursday
- Hours: 8:00 AM - 8:00 PM; four 10-hour shifts per week or three to four 12-hour shifts per week, depending on coverage needs
- Setting: In-person; academic/community hospital environment
Responsibilities:
- Conduct psychiatric evaluations and addiction assessments
- Diagnose and treat substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions
- Provide medication management, including MAT/MOUD when appropriate
- Deliver care in both outpatient and inpatient settings
- Develop individualized treatment plans and collaborate with multidisciplinary care teams
Qualifications:
- MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry
- Completion of an accredited Addiction Psychiatry Fellowship
- New York medical licensure
- DEA registration and ability to prescribe controlled substances
- Experience treating substance use disorders and dual-diagnosis patients
Desired Skills:
- Experience in hospital-based addiction treatment programs
- Familiarity with medication-assisted treatment (MAT)
- Experience working within integrated behavioral health settings
- Prior experience utilizing EPIC EMR
