Overview Job Title: Food Service Worker II Location: Jersey City Medical Center, 355 Grand Street, Jersey City, NJ 07302 Department: Dietary Management Req #: 0000253541 Category: Dietitian / Nutritionist Status: Full-Time (Hourly) Shift: Day Pay Range: $19.83 per hour Pay Transparency: The above reflects the anticipated hourly wage range for this position if hired to work in New Jersey. The compensation offered will depend on factors including education, skills and experience. Responsibilities Assists in tray set-up Collects, processes and disposes of trash; performs general cleaning duties as requested Delivers meals to patient care units; assists patients when possible; cleans food carriers; prepares, stocks and transports food carriers Follows work assignments as established Keeps dining room tables straightened and clean Operates cash register; collects cash/guest meal tickets and makes change as needed Participates in cleaning schedules; maintains cleanliness of work area, equipment and supplies Performs other duties as assigned Reconciles cash accurately; responsible for reconciliations with a $3.00 overage/shortage Scrapes, scours and rinses pots, pans and utensils; performs heavy cleaning duties Sets up menu board to reflect current menu Wipes counters and tables; replenishes items as needed; refills condiments Qualifications Required: Knowledge of food preparation Ability to work under stress in all situations and handle stressful situations Understanding and caring attitude toward the sick Ability to meet deadlines Ability to follow directions and work as a team Ability to establish and maintain working relationships with co-workers, supervisors and other departments Knowledge of either food production/storage or computer skills; quality interpersonal skills Knowledge of touchscreen technology Ability to assist with patient meal selection Preferred: High School Diploma or GED 1- or 2-years hospital food service experience CPR and First Aid certification Scheduling Shift: Day Time: 7:00 am – 3:00 pm Status: Full-Time (40.00 hrs) Position may require every other weekend depending on department needs Benefits Paid Time Off (PTO) Medical and Prescription Drug Insurance Dental and Vision Insurance Retirement Plans Short- & Long-Term Disability Life & Accidental Death Insurance Tuition Reimbursement Health Care/Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts Wellness Programs Voluntary Benefits (e.g., Pet Insurance) Discounts Through partners (e.g., NJ Devils, NJPAC, Verizon) and more Equal Opportunity Employer.
