About the Position

Job Title: RN - Med/Surg Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Medical Surgical Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years of acute care hospital Med/Surg experience License: Current RN license required Certifications: BLS preferred Description: Travel RN position in Med/Surg. Unit Information: Staff includes 1 charge nurse, 5 nurses, and 1-2 techs. Patient ratios are 6:1. Type of equipment used is med/surg EMR. Candidates must have a minimum of 1 year of current acute care hospital experience. Preferred candidates will have GYN/Oncology and Urology experience, as well as med/surg/post-operative experience. Knowledge of Meditech is preferred. Typical procedures performed on the unit include post-operative assessments and care, post-prostatectomy care, post-hysterectomy care, and catheter maintenance. Pain management practices include PCA and epidurals. The ideal candidate is team-oriented, compassionate, and flexible, capable of coping with a fast-paced environment. This position offers a great culture and teamwork, with a low turnover rate and a collaborative relationship with providers.
