Our Intermediate care unit is typically a 1:4 assignment. Typically, they are freshly downgraded ICC patients or patients requiring non-titratable drips. Stable GI bleeds, Stroke patients, CHF requiring IV diuresis, BIPAP, high levels of oxygen therapy, etc! The unit does also occasionally have medical patients as well, which are 1:5.
