Job Summary:
An Operating Room Registered Nurse (RN) is needed in Madison, Wisconsin, for a specialized, high-level perioperative role. Candidates must bring their RN license on the first day. The position involves working in a dynamic surgical environment with complex procedures, including robotic surgeries and transplant cases, primarily on a Day/Evening schedule with 12-hour shifts. This assignment offers an opportunity to contribute to a leading healthcare organization with a focus on patient care excellence.

Job Details:

• Location: Madison, WI
• Specialty: Operating Room (OR)
• Schedule: Day/Evening shifts, 12-hour shifts, 0640-1910, with potential for one shift from 0940-2210, three days per week, minimum of 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: RN license, BLS certification, and Epic electronic medical record (EMR) experience. Inpatient RN travelers must have at least two years of recent acute care experience in the specified specialty.
• Preferred Qualifications: Previous charge nurse experience, Level II trauma experience, and two years of experience in the specialty within the last three years.
• Additional Responsibilities: Candidates should have experience with abdominal/vaginal hysterectomy, blood administration, robotic surgery including Da Vinci Xi system, cystectomy, nephrectomy, prostatectomy, and other advanced surgical procedures.
• Certifications: BLS, RN license required.
• Vaccinations: Flu vaccination required; COVID-19 vaccine not required.
• Testing: Strict pass/fail telemetry exam with two attempts required prior to start, including identification of lethal rhythms and questions regarding third-degree heart blocks. Failure after three attempts results in cancellation of the assignment.
• Experience: Minimum of 2 years in acute care in the specialty area within the last 3 years.
• Travel Requirements: Must be willing to float as needed; local candidates within 50 miles are not accepted. References will be required, with all references removed from submissions.
