The Air Force Civilian Service (AFCS) is looking for a full-time Electrical Engineer (GS-0850(99)-12) to work at the 316th Civil Engineer Squadron, CENM at Joint Base Andrews in Camp Springs, Maryland.

In this position you serve as a professional electrical engineer, performing design, project

programming and construction management/monitoring duties in support of a military installation.

Salary Range is $102,415 - $133,142 Annually based on experience.

REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS POSITION

• U.S. Citizenship

• Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station on military and commercial aircraft.

• The work requires the employee to drive a motor vehicle. An appropriate, valid drivers license is required for the position.

• May act as project liaison with the Army Corps of Engineers or other design agencies as required.

• May be required to serve on A&E selection boards.

• The employee must meet the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA) requirements applicable to the duties of the position. The selectee will have up to 24 months to meet the applicable mandatory experience, education, and training requirements.

• This is a drug testing designated position. The incumbent is subject to random testing for drug use."

RECRUITMENT KNOWLEDGES, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES (KSA):

• Professional knowledge of electrical engineering concepts, principles, and practices and familiarity with architectural and other engineering disciplines.

• Knowledge of a broad range of engineering and construction standards, methods, practices, and techniques, materials, and equipment to determine compliance with federal, state, and local codes and regulations; of standard contracting regulations, practices, and procedures as it relates to facilities engineering; knowledge of health, safety, and environmental requirements as outlined in applicable standards, regulations, and/or technical orders; of

environmental principles, practices, procedures, laws, regulations, and current legislative issues; of work classifications and the regulatory and statutory restrictions on the expenditures of appropriated and non-appropriated funds.

• Knowledge of automated data processing concepts, systems capabilities, and economic usage to effectively accomplish assigned functions; and knowledge of program planning and budgeting cycles, financial control and budget systems and management.

• Knowledge of aesthetic and functional design techniques and skill in preparing project documentation, to include preliminary drawings, sketches, and construction drawings; and technique / skill in drafting sufficient to convey design concepts and ideas and formulate working drawings.

• Ability to plan, conduct and record site/facilities surveys and inspection; to analyze, interpret, and apply results, rules, regulations, and procedures in a variety of situations and recommend timely and economical solutions.

• Ability to participate in special studies and present data to members from different organizations and commands to identify problems and develop solutions.

• Ability to plan and organize work and coordinate with other engineering disciplines and architects; and communicate effectively both orally and in writing and maintain good working relationships.
