Special Education Teacher (Comprehensive / 461)

• 2026-2027 School Year
• Full Time - 37.5 hours/week
• Tennessee 461 special education teaching license required

Key Responsibilities:

• IEP Development & Implementation: Draft, review, and implement individualized standard-based IEPs, ensuring all services, accommodations, and modifications are provided in the Least Restrictive Environment (LRE).
• Specially Designed Instruction: Provide modified, standards-aligned academic instruction and functional life skills training tailored to students with significant cognitive or developmental needs.
• Collaboration: Partner with general education teachers, therapists, parents, and school administrators to advocate for and support student progress.
• Data-Driven Advocacy: Monitor and document student progress diligently to adjust instruction, reporting progress clearly to families and school district stakeholders.
• Classroom Management: Maintain a safe, highly supportive, and structured environment optimized for diverse sensory, medical, and behavioral needs.
