While you will predominantly operate via teletherapy, in-person visits may be required for certain cases, allowing you to build meaningful relationships with clients and their families.

Key Responsibilities\n

As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist at Wellcure, you will:

  • Conduct individual and family therapy sessions remotely or in clients' homes, ensuring a comforting and secure environment for therapy.
  • \n
  • Utilize evidence-based techniques to support clients in developing coping mechanisms and social skills.
  • \n
  • Address high-risk behaviors such as self-injurious behavior (SIB) or aggression, with a focus on proactive behavioral management strategies for both clients and caregivers.
  • \n
  • Collaborate effectively with the Child Family Treatment Team and multidisciplinary professionals to develop integrated treatment plans that prioritize family involvement and positive outcomes.
  • \n
  • Document treatment sessions diligently, including intake assessments, treatment plans, and ongoing progress notes in accordance with clinic protocols.
  • \n
  • Participate in monthly team meetings, providing valuable insights and feedback to improve service delivery.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Your primary focus will be working with children and adolescents aged 3-20, particularly those with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD). By tailoring your therapeutic approach to the unique needs of each child and their family, you will help them navigate complex emotional landscapes and enhance their overall quality of life.

Qualifications\n

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

  • A Master’s Degree in Counseling, Family Therapy, or a related field.
  • \n
  • A valid and unrestricted Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) license.
  • \n
  • A commitment to working a minimum of 5-10 hours weekly during after-school hours (4-7 PM), with flexible weekend availability considered a plus.
  • \n
  • Strong background or training in positive behavior support.
  • \n
  • A valid driver’s license and access to a registered vehicle for occasional home visits.
  • \n
  • Ability to pass a comprehensive criminal background check, including fingerprinting.

Preferred Experience\n

While not mandatory, preference will be given to candidates who have:

  • Experience working with clients facing developmental disabilities.

  • A track record of implementing effective therapeutic interventions with children and adolescents.
